Gina claims surprise downhill win in Tarvisio

With a clean run, 21-year-old Gina from Oberstdorf won ahead of all namable favourites. She relegated the Overall World Cup leader Lindsey Vonn (USA) with one hundredth second advance on second place. Anja Pärson from Sweden became third.
This worldcup win was Gina’s first podium place at all. She was absolutely happy about it: “It was just great, I was feeling so good and I had so much fun on the track. When I watched Lindsey’s run, I’d never thought that she wasn’t as fast as me – it’s unbelievable.”
