Third medal for Tobi Angerer

On the final day of the Nordic World Ski Championships, Tobias ANGERER won the bronze medal in the 50 km race. It was a thrilling finish. Only on the home straight Tobi got passed by the winner Petter Northug (NOR) and Maxim Vylegzhanin from Russia. With this success Tobi finally won the desired single medal for the German Cross Country Team. “After the relay I knew I still had some reserves – that’s why I started in this race”, Tobi said happily. “Actually I wanted to run for gold, but now I am glad about the bronze medal.”

René SOMMERFELDT finished the 50 km race with an excellent sixth place. That is his best result this season. Nevertheless he was a little disappointed: “Exactly when it shouldn’t happen, I broke my pole. So my good position was lost.”
The third German racer, Tom Reichelt, became 24th
