Brands surprises in Munich

By reaching the semifinals at the BMW Open in Munich Daniel BRANDS achieved his best result at the ATP-Tour so far.

The 21-year old Professional from the FORMAXX TennisBase started with a wildcard at the 94. International Tennis Championships of Bavaria, Germany. After wins against Stefan Koubek (AUT), Julien Benneteau (FRA) and Potito Starace (ITA) he met the Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the semis. The match was decided in the middle of the third set. Daniel was leading 4:3 but he couldn’t use any of the four break balls. "There I did a few mistakes. Maybe I don’t have enough experience yet to make points in this show down", Daniel summed up after the match.

But though the disappointment about the missed final Daniel was still very satisfied: "I think I played a good tournament".

Daniel's next big goal is the qualification for the main draw at the French Open in Paris.
