Flo Mayer at the “World Team Cup”

Florian Mayer returns to the German selection at the “World Team Cup”.
Team captain Patrik Kühnen nominated Florian, currently practicing at the FORMAXX TennisBase in Oberhaching, for the unofficial Team World Championships in Düsseldorf to be held from May 16th to 22nd . Florian was last selected in 2008 for the Davis Cup match against South Korea.
More recently, Mayer left the ATP Tour for several months to rehabilitate from a finger surgery. Since his return, his play has moved him from 450 to 46 in the ATP world rankings.
Doubles specialist Christopher Kas completes the German quartet of Mayer and the previously announced Philipp Kohlschreiber and Andreas Beck.


DANIEL BRANDS WINS IN MONZA

Daniel BRANDS had the perfect start on clay court this season with his victory at the ATP-Challenger in Monza (Italy). The number one seed, from the FORMAXX TennisBase defeated the Spanish clay court specialist Pablo Andujar 6:7 (4), 6:3 and 6:4 in the finals of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2010. Brands adds 80 points to his ATP world rankings and received 4.300 US Dollars.
With this success, the 22-year old South Bavarian improved his ATP world ranking by 10 positions and now occupies the 86th place.
